MP3 or Regular Audio

MP3 or Regular Audio-

When you are buying shows you have two options:

MP3 CD
or
Regular Audio CD

There is a BIG difference between the two. MP3 discs will hold a lot of shows, but are only capable of playback on a computer, in a limited amount of home theater DVD/CD players, and a very limited number of car audio CD players. Most people who only have the capability to play back on the computer use these MP3 discs to download to a portable MP3 player such as an iPod.

However, we still sell a lot of Regular Audio CDs. These CDs have about 60 minutes of audio on each disc. The big advantage is that they play in ANY cd player, whether it's in the home or in the car. You can still download regular audio CDs onto a portable MP3 player, and play them on your computer if you like.

It's mainly a question of economics. You can buy 1 MP3 CD with 40 shows on it, vs a Regular Audio CD with 1-4 shows on it, depending on length.

Just a note- During the holiday season we sell a lot of regular audio CDs, who give them as gifts. Even if you know someone, or yourself who collects old time radio shows on MP3 CD, will appreciate getting a few discs that they can take and play anywhere.

The quality of the audio product is the same, whether it is MP3 or Regular Audio CD. You may find the info below a little helpful. If you need more help deciding, just contact us.

It should be clearly marked on the faceplate of the stereo if it does accept MP3 CDs. Please be advised though that although it may play MP3 CDs, depending on the make and model, the episode names, airdates, etc., may not show, or show correctly. It's different on every playback device.

A lot of home theater, and stereo systems play MP3 CDs. If it does it should be clearly marked on the CD or DVD player. All Regular Audio CDs will play. Just a fair warning to Bose system owners....while Bose makes some of the finest audio components available, they are sometimes a little touchy with MP3 CDs. All of our MP3 CDs use the standard MP3 format, but we cannot guarantee that your Bose will play it. Just a little something to keep in mind.
